With expertise in bespoke furniture, fireplaces, picture frames and miniature scale timber buildings Martin's skills are extensive.

Acustomed to working from drawings accurate to 0.1mm and is extremely competent in Jig / template making.

One of Martin's greatest strengths is designing and making in response to a variety of design challenges.

Working with great accuracy and competence, he draws from an extensive skill base in order to provide the perfect solution,

individually tailored to both the customers requirements and budget.

Overview of experience

Martin has worked in the trade as a wood machinist / bench hand and site joiner since leaving school in 1980.

He is fully experienced in setting and operating 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 headed moulders, overhead routers, surface planers, thicknessers, mortices,

single / double ended tenoners, multi spindle borer (Vitap) and dovetailers (Brookman.)

Saws

Dimensional panel, rip, jig, chain, radial arm, band, band re, wall.

Sanders

Speed, drum, overhead disc, bobbin, profile. Straight line edgers, setting up cutter blocks, automatic profile grinders, manual cutter grinding (grinding and resetting knives, thicknesser and surfacer.)

Routers

CNC routers, hand powered routers.

Miniature overview

I use traditional methods to reproduce authentically with attention to detail in order to bring out the natural beauty of the timber.

The 12th scale Tudor house has been a labour of love and has inspired my current ongoing project which explores traditional techniques even further. The Tudor mansion has traditional hand crafted beams, mortice, tenon and pegs.

The wooden castles came about due to the amount of queries from people looking for a solid constructed castle for serious hobbyists and enthusiasts. All the pieces I make are built to withstand the test of time and can be treasured throughout family generations.
